Studie je zaměřena na problematiku loajality šlechty Rakouského Slezska vůči habsburské monarchii v období vlády Marie Terezie (1740-1780), kdy následkem první slezské války došlo k anexi většiny slezského území Pruskem (1742). V nových podmínkách byly mnohé rakouskoslezské rody nuceny hledat možnosti svých kariér po obou stranách nové státní hranice, některé z nich si udržely prorakouský postoj, jiné se naopak postupně identifikovaly s pruským státem.

Topic of this study is focused on the question of loyalty to the Habsburg monarchy during the reign of the Queen Mary Theresa (1740-1780) because of the lost of majority of Silesia after the first Silesian war in 1742. After that, a lot of Silesian noble families were forced to search for new opportunities on the both sides of the new Austrian-Prussian border, couple of them kept their pro-Austrian stand, the other ones gradually identified themselves with Prussian state.
