Kniha seznamuje čtenáře s novou léčebnou metodou (nejen) v onkologii. Stereotaktická radioterapie zažívá v poslední dekádě obrovský boom a objevují se stále nové indikace v léčbě zhoubných i nezhoubných nádorů a rovněž u některých nenádorových onemocnění. Autoři představují teoretický základ metody, fyzikální a biologické aspekty stereotaxe, nezbytné přístrojové vybavení a následně podávají přehled indikací, literárních údajů a vlastních zkušeností. V závěru knihy nabízejí i mírně futuristický pohled na stereotaktickou radioterapii a její potenciál v medicíně.

The book introduces the reader to a new treatment method (not only) in oncology. Stereotactic radiotherapy has been experiencing a huge boom in the last decade and new indications are still emerging in the treatment of malignant and benign tumors, as well as in some non-cancerous diseases. The authors present the theoretical basis of the method, the physical and biological aspects of stereotaxis, the necessary instrumentation and subsequently give an overview of indications, literature data and own experience. At the end of the book they offer a slightly futuristic view of stereotactic radiotherapy and its potential in medicine.
