Studie analyzuje dominantní postavení průmyslového podnikatelstva na Ostravsku a jeho příčiny, tj. volební systém založený na daňovém censu. Srovnává zájmy průmyslníků a komunální samosprávy. Zájmové pozice podnikatelstva charakterizuje s pomocí rozboru činnosti Severomoravsko-slezského svazu průmyslníků, jenž byl založen v Moravské Ostravě v roce 1904 a sdružoval několik desítek velkých firem z regionu severní a střední Moravy a Slezska.

The study analyses the dominant status of the industrial business community and the causes of this status - an electoral system based on the tax census. The study compares the interests of industrialists and local government. The interests of the business community are characterised by means of an analysis of the activities of the North Moravian and Silesian Association of Industrialists, which was founded in Moravian Ostrava in 1904 and brought together several dozen large companies from the regions of Central and North Moravia and Silesia.
