Mizení může být spojováno s pomíjivostí, ničením, stejně jako zneviditelňováním, extrémním zmenšováním, skrýváním, vyhoštěním či odsunutím a přemístěním. Je tedy prakticky nemožné uvažovat o těchto operacích odděleně. Obě jsou prostupné a vzbuzují otázku časovosti a prostorovosti: Kde něco mizí a kde se něco vyjevuje v aktu malování?
