Key words in English:
EER model OWL Conversion EER into OWL
Annotation in original language:
The paper presents several possibilities of database transformation into ontology and focuses on EER model transformation into the OWL model. Section 2 is devoted to two possible approaches with references to relevant literature, including a description of disadvantages of these approaches. Section 3 brings a set of rules which consider various situations and EER constructs taking into account transformation into OWL. It concerns transformation of entities, strong and weak entity, relationship transformation with various cardinalities, including relationships with attributes. In addition, the paper presents transformation of a composite attribute, either concerning attribute of an entity or relationship. Section 4 focuses on a practical demonstration of several described situations.
