Tato studie se zaměřuje na důležitý rozdíl mezi historickými a fikčními narativy, avšak tato distinkcenení založena na obvyklém předpokladu historického narativismu, že historické narativy a dalšíhistorické teorie referují k minulým faktům. Dle L. J. Goldsteina, rozliční historikové nepátrají poskutečné minulosti, avšak obvykle usilují o vysvětlení současného světa a současných dat, označenýchjako důkaz, skrze jejich disciplínu. Pro Goldsteina a Collingwooda je historie především současnýmzkoumáním zaměřeným na záhadné artefakty přítomné v našich životech. Některé nepřírodní objekty(obvykle, avšak nikoliv exkluzivně, texty) vyžadují velmi specifický způsob vysvětlení, který zahrnujepostulování nepřístupné minulosti. 1

This paper focuses on an important difference between historical narrativesand fictional narratives, however, this distinction is not based onthe common assumption of historical realism that historical narratives orother historical theories are referring to the facts in the past. According toL. J. Goldstein, historians of any kind are not asking the questions aboutthe real past, but they are trying to explain the present world and presentdata, labelled as evidence, by the means of their discipline. For Goldsteinand Collingwood, the history is, first and foremost, an inquiry of presentkind which is directed towards the mysterious artefacts in our lives.
