Homo sociologicus, artist, sociology of arts

Kapitola se zabývá tématem homo sociologicus z hlediska umění. Ukazuje, jak se perspektiva sociologie umění odvrátila od konkrétního jedince (geniálního umělce) ke společnosti, která tyto jednotlivce produkuje či konstruuje. Umělec se přitom stal sociologicky významným tématem nanejvýš v obecné (profesní) rovině, až na výjimky tedy nikoli jako jedinečná osobnost.

The chapter deals with the topic of homo sociologicus in relationship to the arts. The author shows how the perspective of the sociology of art has shifted from the specific individual genius toward the society which produces or nurtures these individual masterminds. While the artist has become a sociologically significant topic at the general (professional) level, it is only exceptionally dealt with as a unique personality.
