At universities in the Czech Republic, it is now a common practice for students to acquire a so-called “practice portfolio” as part of their undergraduate training, where they record an overview of their practice as well as certificates issued by organizations in which they have completed the practice, or evaluations which were given to them by managers/supervisors either on the basis of a prescribed template or in a free form; document the fulfilment of assigned tasks, or attempt to do self-evaluation of the completed practice. This portfolio then performs various roles connected with the reporting of their studies: registration, control, diagnostic, etc. Unfortunately, its scope is mostly limited to subjects of practice and does not have any further use in the gradation of studies following the theoretical-practical subjects and state exams. Students thus perceive it as another necessary administrative component of their studies and do not see its potential for presenting themselves in the labour market. The idea of the student portfolio is based on the basic philosophy of supporting the student, the future graduate, as part of their career development in the course of their undergraduate studies through an illustrative and comprehensive document that has an open structure and is divided into four sections: 1. Personality section; 2. Professional development section; 3. Opportunity section; 4. Evaluation section.
