Průmysl lnářský a damaškový ve dvacátých letech 20. století dosáhl v Bruntále vrcholu svého zatímního rozvoje, aby v letech následujících procházel jedním z nejtěžších období své existence. Po roce 1930 mnoho podniků zaniká a ty, které přetrvaly, musely svůj výrobní program přizpůsobit situaci na trhu ? ovlivňovaném důsledky Velké hospodářské krize. Rozhodující úlohu při řízení mnou sledovaných podniků ve dvacátých a třicátých letech 20. století měli potomci zakladatelů i noví majitelé firem. Součástí příspěvku je rámcový nástin personální historie těchto osobností.

The linen and damask production in Bruntál reached its peak during the 20-ties of the 20th century, however during the following period it experienced the most difficult times in its history. After 1930 many textile companies closed down and those survived had to adjust their production program according to the current market situation influenced by the Great Depression. The descendants of the local industry founders as well as the new owners played main role in management of the two companies during the 20-ties and the 30-ties of the 20th century described in this article. The part of this text is also an outlined description of the individual history of these personalities.
