Práce tematizuje kategorii subjektu v moderním myšlení. Všímá si významu subjektu zejména v jazyce a lidské komunikaci. Monografie promýšlí postavení subjektu v postmoderně: zdálo se, že koncept subjektu nemá význam, avšak nyní je opět používán. Subjekt je nyní chápán více dynamicky: jako čin, proces, akt sebe-tvorby.

Monograph thinks over the position of the subject in the postmodern: it seemed that the concept of the subject has no meaning, but now it is used again. The subject is now understood more dynamically: as an act, a process, an act of self-creation.
