Cemeteries are in postsecular age ambivalent spaces, they belong to the public space, but at the same time are taboo place. The retreat of the traditional funeral culture in contemporary Czech Republic indicates that the evolution will go in a new direction - towards new forms of mourning, burying the dead and remembering deceased.
