Text Čeští mučedníci katolické církve z období komunismu se zaměřuje na problematiku perzekuce katolické církve komunistickým režimem v období 50. a 60. let. Studie se dotýká vybraných osudů cca 25 diecézních kněží a řeholníků. Nejprve je zmíněna jejich obecná charakteristika (věrnost biskupům, církvi, společenská angažovanost, oblíbenost mezi farníky, zkušenosti s nacistickým vězněním, odmítání kolaborantských aktivit či spolupráce se Státní bezpečností). Následně jsou tyto osoby rozděleny dle příčin úmrtí 1) Odsouzeni k trestu smrti a popravení 2) Zastřeleni při pokusu o přechod hranic 3) Zemřelí ve vazbě během vyšetřování/ úmrtí duchovních ve vazbě vydávaná za sebevraždy 4) zemřelí v době věznění, během výkonu trestu 5) Úmrtí po propuštění na následky věznění.

The text The Czech Martyrs of the Catholic Church in the Communist Period focuses on the persecution of the Catholic Church by the communist regime in the 50´s and 60´s. The study narrates the destiny of chosen 25 diocesan priests and monks. Their general characteristics is mentioned first (their loyalty to their bishop, their loyalty to the church, their engagement in the society, their popularity among friars, their experience with the Nazi imprisonment, their refusal of the collaboration with the State security). The above mentioned persons are divided according to the cause of their death: 1. Sentenced to death and executed, 2. Shot when attempting to cross the state border, 3. Died when in custody and interrogated / deaths of the priests when in custody accounted for as suicide cases, 4. Died in prison when serving their sentence, 5. Died after their release from prison as a consequence of their imprisonment.
