Key words in English:
social media, media in education, (questionnaire) survey, school projects, connectivism
Annotation in original language:
At present, social media are experiencing an enormous boom around the whole world. While using social media in higher education is quite common, using them in the lower levels of education, especially in elementary education, is not well established. The question arises as to what extent our educational system is capable of using the potential of such media (in what subjects, how often, for what purpose) in the classroom effectively, if at all. A questionnaire survey was created in order to find out how social media are currently used in elementary schools. The results of the survey serve as a starting point for establishing models such as the changing attitudes of the teachers, innovation in teaching, new methods and forms of pedagogical work, making lessons more attractive to the students and more. In the light of the connectivism theory, we are seeking a new perspective on education that goes beyond the individual.
