Fomes fomentarius is very common polypore. It is distributed in North America, in South America (Chile), in Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Sao Tome and Principe), in Asia, and over whole Europe. In total, 49 host species were associated with Fomes fomentarius in North America, 3 host species in South America, 4 host species in Africa, 49 host species in Asia, and 61 host species in Europe.
