Stať pojednává o abreviaci jako o aktivním slovotvorném procesu v současné ruštině. Autorka popisuje různé typy abreviatur, zvláštní pozornost věnuje těm typům, které jsou motivujícím základem mnoha nových složených jednotek. Všímá si také procesu lexikalizace, v jehož důsledku mnohé zkratky v textech plní funkci slova. Autorka popisuje rovněž některé přejaté zkratky a jejich užívání v současné ruštině.

The article deals with the abbreviation as an active process of word-formation in the contemporary Russian language. The author describes various types of abbreviations, she pays special attention to those, which have been used as a word-base for many new compound units. The process of lexicalization, during which some of abbreviations have become words, is examined. In this article, author focuses on some types of foreign abbreviations used in the Russian language as well.
