Z iluminátorské výzdoby tohoto evangeliáře, který dle všeho vznikl v Mohuči v polovině 11. století, se zachovaly jen celostránková zobrazení evangelistů Lukáše a Jana, stejně jako úvodní celostránkové iniciály. Jejich formální podoba dovoluje zařadit je do pozdně otónské produkce knižní malby, jež se rozvíjela v německých zemích mezi Mohučí a Fuldou.

Only two full-page images of St. Lucas and St. John Evangelist as well as the opening full-page initials survived from the original illuminations in the Gospel book crafted in the mid of the 11th century in Mainz. Their formal character allows us to be classified among the late Ottonian book illumination production that was developing in the German countries in the region between Mainz and Fulda.
