Key words in English:
Mythical Landscape; the poem cycle Vyšehrad; women and men; life in harmony with nature
Annotation in original language:
V příspěvku autor dokazuje, že Zeyerův Vyšehrad nevychází výhradně z novoromantické potřeby ?rekonstrukce? českého zakladatelského mýtu, ale i z básníkovy ambice připomenout bytostné spojení člověka s přírodou.
Annotation in english language:
The study Mythical Landscape in Zeyer´s Vyšehrad opens with a portrayal of the countryside near Prague that directly inspired the poet to write the poem cycle Vyšehrad (1880). Characters - female characters in particular - and nature are closely related: whereas different natural elements acquire the shape and qualities of female characters; women, their appearance and personality are often compared to a variety of natural phenomena. Women in Zeyer´s poem seem to be much closer to nature than men; they understand it and in accordance with other natural beings do not feel any need to control others. Men, on the other hand, are endowed with the capacity and desire to govern their surroundings. Thus the girls´ war is presented here not only as an attempt at establishing an equality of sexes but also as an attempt at returning back to life in harmony with nature.
