Der Beitrag befasst sich mit den Möglichkeiten der Textoptimierung in Hinsicht auf die Textverständlichkeit. Auf Grund der theoretischen Konzepte werden die textoptimierenden Mittel nach deren inhalts- oder formbezogenen Charakter gegliedert. Aufmerksamkeit wird dabei vor allem den Textstrukturierungsmöglichkeiten und ihrer Relevanz für die Textverständlichkeit geschenkt. Ausgewählte Textoptimierungsstrategien werden an den populärwissenschaftlichen Texten im Vergleich zu den wissenschaftlichen Texten mit einem ähnlichen Thema demonstriert. Erhöhung der Verständlichkeit eines Textes erreicht man nicht, wenn man möglichst viele textoptimierende Mittel im Text einsetzt, da es notwendig ist, auch der Aktivität des Rezipienten genügend Raum zu lassen.

The paper deals with text optimisation possibilities with regard to text comprehensibility. On the basis of theoretical concepts, text optimisation means are divided according to whether they relate predominantly to the content or form of a text. At the same time, attention is devoted mainly to text structuring possibilities and their relevance to text comprehensibility. Selected optimisation strategies are demonstrated on popular science texts in comparison to technical texts of a similar subject-matter specialisation. An increase in text comprehensibility cannot be achieved by inserting as many optimisation means as possible into the text. For this is necessary to leave sufficient room for the recipient's activity, as well.
