Výchova člověka se týká těch nejobecnějších otázek lidské existence a naší koexistence s druhými lidmi a se světem. Pokud uvažujeme o funkční vazbě výchovy a hodnot, jsou to práce hodnoty, které představují vytoužené, hlavně uvědomělé tendence konstitující bio-psycho-socio-duchovní podstatu lidského bytí."Výchova jako intencionální činnost je realizována na základě lidské zkušenosti, poznání a kulturně tradovaných a přijatých hodnot. Hodnoty pro výchovu jsou tedy východiskem, cílem i prostředkem výchovy. Samotná hodnotová výchova, výchova k hodnotám je chápána jako mravní výchova, etická výchova, výchova charakteru. Autorka se dále ve svém příspěvku zabývá vymezením pojmu hodnoty z hlediska metafyzicka a nemetafyzicky fundované teorie hodnot , popisuje individuální a sociální funkci hodnot ve vztahu k výchově.

The author analyzes the functional link between the world of human values and upbringing. Man´s education regards the most general issues of human existence and coexistence with the others and with the world. If we think about functional link between upbringing and values, the values are those which "represent the desired, but mainly consious tendencies constituting biological, psychological, social and spiritual nature of human existence." In the text, difficulties with ambiguity of defining the term of values are further analyzed in the philosophic thinking , the aproach to values from the psychological and pedagogical point of view is specified here. Based analysis of individual and social function of values, the author derives the specificity of the values in curriculum. For a particular pedagogical practice, the contribution deals with the issue of sources of values creation and the overview of approaches to the values education and individual methods.
