Předkládáme pokus o reflexi filozofického odkazu Richarda Rortyho, jeho pojetí pravdy, pojetí možností hledání a nacházení pravdy. Richard Rorty je považován za duchovního otce tzv. jazykového obratu, "linguistic turn". Jak tomuto obratu rozumět? Rorty argumentuje, že pravda není v idejích mimo nás, jak nás učil Platón, není ani v rozumu, jak nás učili němečtí idealisté. Pravda je v jazyce, jímž stále znovu objevujeme a stále znovu vytváříme skutečnost. V článku se zamýšlíme nad tím, jak lze tuto Rortyho myšlenku uplatnit a rozvíjet v edukačním kontextu.

We present an attempt to reflect the philosophical legacy of Richard Rorty, his concept of truth, concept of opportunities to search and find the truth. Richard Rorty is considered a spiritual father of so called linguistic turn. How this term should be understood? Rorty argues that truth is not in ideas out there as taught by Plato, nor in the reason, as taught by German idealists. Truth is in language through which the reality is again and again discovered and created by us. The article provides our contemplation how Rorty's idea can be applied and developed in an educational context.
