Soft computing, indeterminacy, fuzzy, multi-criteria decision-making, multiagent systems

Článek se zabývá směrováním výzkumu na katedře informatiky a počítačů, Přírodovědecké fakulty Ostravské univerzity v Ostravě do oblasti soft computing. Výsledky jsou směrovány na: ? Výzkum teoretických základů metod soft computing založených zejména na hlubokých vlastnostech používaných algebraických struktur. ? Výzkum metod a nástrojů pro vícekriteriální rozhodování. ? Vývoj speciálních přírodou inspirovaných algoritmů a robustních algoritmů pro numerické výpočty. ? Vývoj metod pro zpracování speciálních (např. medicínských) obrázků.

The paper deals with the direction of research at the Department of informatics and computers, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava, into the area of soft computing. One of the main objectives of the research activities is to offer sophisticated mathematical methods which do not need a specialist-mathematician for their interpretation, but which can be directly and immediately used by a user. The methods themselves are familiar to the user who can at least understand their principle. The results are focused on: ? Research of theoretical bases of soft computing methods primarily based on deep attributes of the used algebraic structures. ? Research of methods and tools for multi-criteria decision-making. ? Research of special nature-inspired algorithms and robust algorithms for numerical computations. ? Development of methods for special image processing (e.g. medical).
