Data jsou produkována, tvořena, nikoliv "dána". Prožívání, vědění a jednání badatele se vztahuje na jím vytvořená data, která se mohou dále zpracovávat libovolnými metodami. Badatel by se neměl zbavovat odpovědnosti za reflektování cílů, ke kterým by měly být jím vytvořená data použita.

Research can be understood as a process of epistemological activity of the theory on the one hand and the empiry on the other hand with the aim to answer the research?s question. Epistemological activity is connected with the acceptance of the concrete research paradigma used by the research/social worker. In these days used the paradigma "experiencing - knowing - acting" that infl uences the process of the data forming. The experiencing phenomena is formed as facts of knowing based on epistemological (research) activity and through this process they become important for theory and practice as the data. The operation "experiencing - knowing - acting" defines psychological facts qualitatively so that they can be later processed by quantitative methods .
