Rozpad habusburské monarchie a rozdělení Knížectví Těšínského způsobily rozštěpení jednoty rakousko - slezského protestantismu a zahajily zcela novou kapitolu v dějinách evangelické církve směřující ke vzniku národních církví v nádtupnických státech. V této zaležitosti psali evangelíci různých národnosti memoranda k mírové konferenci v Paříži.

Since its beginnings, Lutheranism in the Těšín Region has been multicultural in its character and served as a meeting point of Polish, German and partially Czech cultural influences. When in the middle of the 19th century nationality became the main promoter of social and political processes in the Habsburg Monarchy, it had a significant influence on the relationship between the State and the Church as well as on the relations among evangelic Protestants of different nationalities. In the time of victorious nationalism, which presented itself through the establishment of national states, a large number of clergy was not able to cling to the concepts of Christianity as opposed to national interests.
