This paper presents coarse description of a core of the new knowledge discovery engine developed at Department of Computer Science, FEI, VŠB-TUO. History of KDD at our department is brought together, basic system design decisions are discussed, and the division of the system into separate units is made. Also, the idea how to represent the structure of data analyses and the appropriate data model of it is given.
