Key words in English:
global optimization, differential evolution, competition, adaptive algorithms
Annotation in original language:
This paper deals with differential evolution. Adaptation of its controlling parameters was studied. The competition of different controlling-parameter settings was proposed and tested on six functions at three levels of the search space dimensions. The competitive differential evolution proved to be more reliable and less time-consuming than the standard differential evolution. The competitive differential evolution also outperformed some other algorithms that were tested.
