Key words in English:
Vagueness; fuzzy logic; sorites paradox
Annotation in original language:
In this paper we analyze the phenomenon of vagueness from the point of view of fuzzy logic. Vagueness is understood as one of facets of the indeterminacy phenomenon. First we give an overview of various theories of vagueness. Then we describe the basic properties of fuzzy logic in narrow and broader sense. Finally, we present a description of sorites-like paradoxes in the frame of fuzzy logic in narrow sense. We conclude with a claim that fuzzy logic is a well developed logical system able to deal with the vagueness phenomenon.
