Key words in English:
Burkina Faso, DRC, African liberation, leaders
Annotation in original language:
The chapter focuses on Patrice Lumumba and Thomas Sankara, two toweringfigures of African liberation, remain enduring symbols of resistance against imperialism and neocolonialism. Lumumba, the first prime minister of Congo (now DRC), and Sankara, the revolutionary leader of BurkinaFaso, shared a vision rooted in pan-Africanism, social justice, and economic self-determination. Though their lives were tragically cut short by assassinations linked to both internal and external rivals, their legacies continue to inspire movements for justice, unity, and transformation across Africa.
