Studie zaměřená na fenomén nástěnné malby v husitském a krátce pohusitském období je součástí rozsáhlé třídílné publikace poskytující komplexní pohled na vývoj výtvarné kultury středověku a rané renesance v regionu východních Čech v letech 1200 až 1550. Umění tohoto regionu je v takovém rozsahu zkoumáno vůbec poprvé a na vzniku publikace se podílelo téměř šest desítek autorů, odborníků na danou problematiku. První díl obsahuje syntetické studie zaměřené na klíčová témata nejen z oblasti výtvarného umění zahrnujícího malířství, sochařství či umělecké řemeslo, ale také podnětné příspěvky z oborů historie, geografie, archeologie, architektury a urbanismu. Následující dva svazky katalogové části podrobně představují jednotlivá umělecká díla v rámci jejich historických a umělecko-historických souvislostí. Publikace neopomíjí ani středoevropský kontext, který je v tomto případě zaměřen zejména na Kladsko, ve sledovaném období součást českého království. Tří svazková publikace je doplněna bohatou obrazovou dokumentací.

The study focusing on the phenomenon of mural painting in the Hussite and shortly post-Hussite period is part of an extensive three-volume publication providing a comprehensive view of the development of the artistic culture of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance in the region of East Bohemia between 1200 and 1550. This is the first time that the art of this region has been explored on such a large scale, and nearly sixty authors, experts in the field, have contributed to the publication. The first volume contains synthetic studies focusing on key themes not only in the field of fine art, including painting, sculpture and artistic craftsmanship, but also stimulating contributions from the fields of history, geography, archaeology, architecture and urban planning. The following two volumes of the catalogue section present individual works of art in detail within their historical and art historical context. The publication does not neglect the Central European context, which in this case focuses in particular on Kladsko, part of the Bohemian Kingdom in the period under review. The three-volume publication is supplemented by rich pictorial documentation.
