Key words in English:
Norway spruce; photosynthesis; elevated CO2; diurnal dynamics
Annotation in original language:
Under prolonged exposure to elevated CO2 concentration [CO2] the acclimatory depression of photosynthesis was observed for the Norway spruce, particularly for the sunny foliage. During summer assimilatory apparatus is often exposed to microclimatic parameters resulting in a typical midday depression of photosynthesis. In order to obtain relevant information on the impact of acclimatory depression of photosynthesis under elevated [CO2], the daily pattern of photosynthetic activity was investigated for sunny needles of the spruces grown under the ambient (AC) and/or elevated (EC, ambient + 350 umol(CO2) mol-1) [CO2].
