Příspěvek se zaměřuje na vymezení specifického druhu řádového upřesňování některých typů číslovkových výrazů užívaných v publicistických textech vztahujících se nejen k mezním situacím (jakými jsou např. pandemie covid-19, ruská invaze na Ukrajinu, inflace, energetická krize). Autorka uvádí příklady užívání adjektiv nízký, malý, vysoký a velký a jejich komparativů nižší, menší, vyšší a větší ve spojení s číslovkovými výrazy a zamýšlí se nad důvody a způsoby jejich užívání. Vedle aktuálních excerpt srovnává také frekvenci užívání těchto jazykových prostředků v synchronních korpusech psaného jazyka Českého národního korpusu.

The contribution aims at defining a specific type of order specification of some types of numeric expressions used in journalistic texts related not only to extreme situations (such as, for example, the Covid-19 pandemic, Russian invasion of Ukraine, inflation, energy crisis). The author gives examples of the use of adjectives nízký, malý, vysoký and velký (low, small, high and large) and their comparatives nižší, menší, vyšší and větší (lower, smaller, higher and larger) connected to numerical expressions and reflects on the reasons and methods of their use. In addition to current excerpts, she also compares the frequency of use of these language devices in the synchronous corpora of the written language of the Czech National Corpus.
