Předložená studie se pokouší o souhrnou analýzu situace uprchlíků v České republice v letech 1999 - 2003, a to přiblížením legislativní situace, administrativní situace, situace uprchlíků z aspektu počtu žadatelů o azyl a počtu udělených azylů, představuje také instituce zabývající se uprchlíky jak ve státním, tak nestátním sektoru, dále se zmiňuje o státním integračním programu a humanitárních programech a věnuje pozornost uprchlíkům jako klientůlm sociální práce.

This paper presents summarizing analysis of the situation of refugees in the zech Republic from 1999 to 2003. The paper outlines current legislation, the administrative situation, the situation of fefugees measured in terms of the number of applicants for asylum and the number of applicants actually granted asylum. The article includes onformation on institutions dealing with refugees in both the state and private sectors, on state programme for the integration of refugees,and on humanitarian programmes. Attention is also devoted to refugees as social work clients.
