Annotation in original language:
The context for a citizenship based on belonging to a single nation is being eroded. The new trans-national multicultural citizenship of regional entities as innovative experiment of the EU. Cultural citizenship as a right to be different while enjoying full membership of a democratic and participatory community under the condition of tolerance and mutual respect. Cultural citizenship should be viewed in the terms of satisfying demands for full inclusion into social community. The Czech Republic is shortly before the EU membership. The results of the sociological research deal with the readiness of the teachers of the civic education to cultivate cultural citizenship, their experience of multicultural reality and multicultural education, their points of view concerned to the European identity and the European citizenship.
