Opera - Bubu of Montparnasse - Emil František Burian - Polydynamics
Annotation in original language:
The chapter focuses on the third opera by a pre-eminent Czech composer and theatre director Emil František Burian (1904-1959). Besides a detailed analysis of the work the authoress deals with artistic context of the 1920s and avantgarde aesthetics which Burian strove to fulfill in the opera. The study also aims to lay down performance issues which emerged in connection with the world premiere of Bubu of Montparnasse in 1999 in the State opera Prague.
