Cílem kapitoly je ukázat aplikaci přístupu komunitní práce na okolnosti a podmínky sociálního vyloučení v kontextu vyloučených lokalit. Přístup komunitní práce není pouze souborem postupů a strategií, ale zahrnuje také osvojení si určité kritické perspektivy a teoretické orientace ve vztahu k situacím, ve kterých se nachází lidé a komunity, se kterými pracuje. Teoreticky se opíráme o strukturální a kulturní teorie a teorii strukturace. Nabízíme emancipační přístup, který skrze zvyšováním kapacity lidí jednat cílí také na struktury a procesy, které vyloučení v první řadě vytváří. Spojení sil obyvatel sociálně vyloučených lokalit prostřednictvím aktivit komunitní práce jim umožňuje dosahování většího vlivu a posiluje jejich uvědomění, že i ostatní lidé zažívají potíže, které mají společenský kontext a nepramení z individuálních deficitů. Na příkladu dvou lokalit je ilustrován celý proces budování kapacity.

The aim of the chapter is to show the application of the community work approach to the circumstances and conditions of social exclusion in the context of excluded localities. The approach of community work is not only a set of procedures and strategies but also involves the acquisition of a critical perspective and theoretical orientation in relation to the situations in which the people and communities with which they work find themselves. Theoretically, we rely on structural and cultural theories and the structuration theory. We offer an emancipatory approach that, by increasing people's capacity to act, also targets the structures and processes that exclusion creates in the first place. Joining forces of residents of socially excluded localities through community work activities enables them to achieve more significant influence and strengthens their awareness that other people also experience difficulties that have a social context and do not stem from individual deficits. The entire capacity-building process we illustrate in the example of two sites.
