Modern time makes higher demands on people working in any field of human activity.Teachers are no exception. In their case it is not enough just to develop their own digital literacy but their task is also to develop their students' digital literacy. An important factor affecting the successful and effective use of digital technologies in teaching is the attitude and confidence of the teacher in his knowledge and skills related to digital technologies which will also affect the development of digital literacy of students. Because of that we consider it important to address the self-assessment of future teachers in this area and to determine whether the methods we use in the training of future teachers have a sufficient effect not only on their knowledge and skills but also on the attitude components of their competencies. The paper describes the results of self-evaluation of microlearning course students in the study of Information Technology in Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Ostrava. The aim of this course was to show future teachers the use of various digital technologies and applications in the educational process. Students' self-assessment was focused on specific skills related to digital literacy and digital competencies according to the DigComp 2.1 framework. The self-assessment was carried out using an electronic form composed of Likert scales. The self-assessment was carried out on a research sample of 203 students (future teachers). In order to reflect the effect of the microlearning course in the results the students were needed to do the self-assessment twice - before and after completing the course. The results show that confidence in one's own knowledge and skills with the study of the microlearning course has increased in all areas monitored. The areas that showed the least level of self-esteem achieved the highest improvement in self-esteem. The differences were evaluated as statistically significant.
