Kapitola se zabývá vybranými moderními teoriemi celoživotního vývoje, které vznikaly zejména v poslední čtvrtině 20. století. Jde především o psychologicky, sociologicky a systémově orientované teorie. Jednotlivé přístupy jsou zasazeny do širšího kontextového rámce spolu s analýzou společně sdílených charakteristik a zdrojů, ze kterých vychází. Nabízí také srovnání s klasickými teoriemi vývoje, které stály u jejich zrodu a ovlivňovaly jejich směřování (často i kriticky).

The chapter deals with selected modern theories of lifespan development, which originated especially in the last quarter of the 20th century. These are mainly psychologically, sociologically and systemically oriented theories. The individual approaches are set in a broader contextual framework, together with an analysis of the shared characteristics and resources on which it is based. It also offers a comparison with the classical theories of development that stood at their birth and influenced their direction (often critically).
