The project EDDIE - "Intelligent Neuro-Rehabilitation System for Patients with Acquired Brain Damage in Early Stages of Treatment" is designed as an intelligent tool for rapid rehabilitation and recovery of patients. During its development, we found interesting and inspiring parallels with the concept of adaptive control of the learning process. Therefore, we have tried to incorporate the main ideas of adaptive learning into the EDDIE system and to design an appropriate implementation of its rules. The aim is then to use the objectively identified advantages of the adaptive learning system also in patients’ rehabilitation, i.e. in the medical setting.
