Annotation in original language:	The multicentre study analysed the prevalence of adverse events in 14 Czech hospitals. This cross-sectional multicentre study was conducted in 14 acute care hospitals in the Czech Republic. In total, 105 wards and 805 nurses from these wards participated in this study. The most prevalent adverse events were falls and pressure ulcers, the most frequently reported health care-associated infections were urinary tract infections and gastrointestinal tract infections. Correlations have been found between unfinished care and prevalence of falls with injury.
