Key words in English:
Haemolysisthrombotic microangiopathy morbidity and mortality
Annotation in original language:
Haemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count(HELLP) syndrome is a rare thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) associated with pregnancy. If it is late or inadequately treated it can be associated with severe morbidity and mortality. If thrombocytopenia, intravascular haemolysis and organ damage is not resolved within 48 to 72 hours after birth, it is a life-threatening condition that requires comprehensive treatment.
