Annotation in original language:
The aim of the study is to verify whether and in what way the individual land use planning goals defined in the Czech Republic by the Building Act are fulfilled in practice. The study focuses on the environment of municipalities with population ranging from 350 to 449. Based on the analysis of interviews with the mayors of individual municipalities, it was found out that land use plans really provide conditions for construction and sustainable development of the territory. The research proved that the objective of construction is in practice fulfilled in a very explicit way, while the objective of sustainable development is also fulfilled, but it is rather implicitly used, usually as an integrated part of individual plans. It was also confirmed that land use planning is a complex process which in many ways cooperates with various sectoral policies.
