In der Pressesprache der Gegenwart sind zahlreiche konkurrierende Parallelbildungen auf -ation und -ierung zu beobachten, die, unter synchronem Gesichtspunkt, als deverbale Derivate von Verben auf -ieren betrachtet werden können, wie z. B. Konfrontation/ Konfrontierung und Isolation/ Isolierung. Sie werden im fachsprachlichen sowie bildungssprachlichen Kontext verwendet, einige treten auch in der Alltagssprache auf. Im Kapitel werden einige Teilergebnisse einer korpusgestütztenAnalyse dieser nahen Synonyme präsentiert. Das Augenmerk wird dabei auf verschiedene statistische Verfahren, insbesondere auf den Signifikanztest, gerichtet, mit deren Hilfe die Vorkommenshäufigkeit und Kookkurrenzpartner dieser Parallelbildungen in verschiedenen Korpora (das Deutsche Referenzkorpus des IDS Mannheim, die DWDS-Korpora und das Wortschatz-Portal der Universität Leipzig) verglichen werden. Unter den Signifikanztests wird der sog. Chi-Quadrat-Test ausgewählt, wobei der Frage nachgegangen wird, ob die mit Hilfe dieser Korpora gewonnenen Ergebnisse übereinstimmen und für welche Fragestellungen dieser Test geeignet ist.

There are many concurrent parallel formations on -ation and -ierung in the contemporary press, which, from a synchronous point of view, can be considered as deverbal derivatives of verbs, such as Konfrontation/ Konfrontierung and Isolation/ Isolierung. They are used in the technical and educational context, and some also appear in everyday language. In the chapter, some results of a corpus-based analysis of these close synonyms are presented. Attention is focused on various statistical methods, in particular on the significance test, with the help of which the frequency of occurrence and co-occurrence of these parallel formations in different corpora (the German Reference Corpus of the IDS Mannheim, the DWDS corpora and the vocabulary portal of the University of Leipzig) are compared. Among the significance tests, the so-called Chi-square test is selected, whereby the question is investigated whether the results obtained with the help of these corpora agree and for which questions this test is suitable.
