W artykule przeanalizowano i zbadano wpływ rodziny na preferencjeedukacyjno - zawodowe i całożyciową edukację studentów z Polski i Czech.Scharakteryzowano system kształcenia w Polsce i Czechach oraz możliwości rozwojuzawodowego i kariery. Na podstawie wyników badań przedstawiono aktualnądiagnozę stanu i stwierdzono, że styl wychowania i postawy rodziców kształtująosobowość dzieci i mają istotny wpływ na ich wybór zawodowy. Młodzież pragnieosiągnąć wyższe wykształcenie niż ich rodzice i wyższy status społeczny. Dobrewzorce i postawy rodziców (odpowiedzialność, pracowitość, uczciwość) motywujądo nauki i pracy u dzieci. Zainteresowania wyniesione z domu rodzinnego (opiekuńcze,czytelnicze, społeczne) wpływają na wybór zawodu pedagoga i wykonywaniepracy w tym zawodzie. Studenci z Czech i Polski nieustannie kształcą sięi podnoszą własne kwalifikacje zawodowe. Polacy najczęściej wybierają kursy,szkolenia i studia podyplomowe, natomiast Czesi studia magisterskie oraz kursyzawodowe.

The authors have analysed the impact of the family on educational& professional preferences and lifelong learning of the students from Poland andthe Czech Republic. The educational systems in Poland and the Czech Republicand the opportunities of the professional development and career have beencharacterised. Based on the research results it has been stated that the manners styleand the attitudes of parents influence significantly the attitude of children and theirprofessional choice. The youth wish to achieve higher educational level than theirparents and higher social status. Good patterns and attitudes of parents (responsibility, diligence, honesty) motivate to education and work. The interests takenfrom homeland (protective, reader's, social) influence the choice of the teacher?sprofession. The students from Poland and the Czech Republic continuously learnand improve their professional qualifications. The Poles chose courses, trainingsand post-graduate studies, whereas the students from the Czech Republic - masterstudies and vocational courses.
