Artistic expression can be understood not only as an expression of the child's and the youth's personality, but it also captures the actual artistic expression. Specific differences between individuals, which are caused by one's upbringing and his surroundings or the individual's mental state, are reflected in the distinctive artistic gesture. This project deals with groups of youths from juvenile detention institutions. This artistic expression can be seen as an instrument through which we can get to know and understand the problematic individuals who show occurrence of conduct disorder or frustration. The drawing activity or any other artistic activity in the end becomes a means of communication between myself and the respondent. The artistic expression not only allows us partialy to uncover the depth of the artist, but also uncovers his opinions, attitudes and values which are sometimes unconsciously transformed into art symbols.
