Film se během 20. století stal velmi rozšířenou formou médií. Může být využit jako zajímavý pramen v rámci výuky dějepisu. Může se stát dobrým nástrojem pro zatraktivnění historie mladým lidem a učitelé jim mohou jejich prostřednictvím přiblížit výuku dějepisu. Existuje několik druhů filmu, každý lze vužít ve specifických případech. Hodně učitelů dějepisu upřednostňuje dokumentární filmy. Zatímco hrané filmy představují lákavější pohled na historické události, podle vyučujících nejsou příliš spolehlivé. Příspěvek představuje výsledky empirického výzkumu z roku 2008, který se věnoval využití hraného filmy v rámci výuky dějepisu na středních školách, analýzu videostudií výuky vysokoškolských studentů učitelství dějepisu a představí plány výzkumu, který bude navazovat na dřívější z roku 2008.

Film has been a widespread form of media throughout the 20th century. It can be used as an interesting source of material in history education. Films can be a good instrument in order to make history more attractive for young people around the world as well as closing the distance between teachers and their pupils. There are several kinds of film, which can be used in specific cases. Many history teachers prefer documentary films. While feature films represent a more tempting form of interpretation of historical events, yet this is not regarded as reliable by teachers according to a given questionnaire. This article presents the results of empirical research done in 2008 on the usage of feature films at grammar schools in history classes, analyses of classes conducted by university students and plans for continuation of a prior study which was carried out ten years ago.
