Podle šestifaktorového osobnostního modelu HEXACO vystihuje osobnost nejlépe šest dimenzí, které mohou sehrávat zásadní roli ve formování interpersonálního chování a na jejichž základě lze odhadovat budoucí chování dané osoby. Kladli jsme si za cíl určit typické osobnostní vlastnosti (měřeno HEXACO-PI-R) a sociální dovednosti (měřeno Inventářem sociálních dovedností) u vzorku 144 studentů Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci a stanovit, ve kterých aspektech sociální inteligence a dimenzích osobnosti se liší studenti a studentky. Dále jsme usilovali o zjištění těsnosti vztahů mezi šesti dimenzemi osobnosti a komponentami sociální inteligence. Ukázalo se, že v celkové výši sociální inteligence sice studenti obou pohlaví skórují přibližně stejně, ale existují signifikantní rozdíly v její struktuře. Diference mezi pohlavími se týkaly jak míry, tak struktury měřených proměnných. Zjistili jsme také signifikantní korelace mezi faktory HEXACO a škálami sociální inteligence. Šlo zejména o faktor emocionalita ve vztahu ke škálám sociální vnímavost a emoční kontrola a o faktor extraverze ve vztahu k sociálnímu vyjadřování a kontrole.

According to the HEXACO six-factor personality model, the personality is best described by the six dimensions that can play essential role in shaping the interpersonal behaviour and constitute the base for estimating the person's future behaviour. Our goal was to determine typical personality traits (as measured by the HEXACO-PI-R) and social skills (as measured by the Social Skills Inventory) at a sample of 144 students of the Palacký University in Olomouc and to define in which aspects of social intelligence and personality dimensions male and female students differ. Further, we aimed to find a degree of closeness of the relationships among the six personality dimensions and the social intelligence components. We found that students of both sexes scored approximately identically in a total score of the social intelligence but there were significant differences in its structure. The sex differences concerned both the degree and the structure of the measured variables. We also revealed significant correlations between the HEXACO factors and the social intelligence scales. It concerns particularly the factor of emotionality in relation to the scales of social sensitivity and emotional control and the factor of extraversion in relation to social expressivity and control.
