Hans Ulrich Wehler ve své práci o modernizaci z roku 1975 vyjmenoval šest důležitých subprocesů, kterými se modernizační proces v historii prosazoval. Jako šestý bod uvádí institucionalizaci konfliktů, která měla zabránit násilným střetům mezi zaměstnanci a zaměstnavateli a přivést obě strany k jednacímu stolu. Můj příspěvek nastíní cestu k institucionalizaci prostřednictvím několika tezí, které jsem načerpal při studiu zahraniční a domácí literatury a při výzkumu stávkového hnutí a výluk v Rakouské monarchii do roku 1918.

Hans Ulrich Wehler in his work on the modernization (1975) listed the six major sub-processes in which the modernization process in the history began. As the sixth paragraph states the institutionalization of conflict, which should prevent violent clashes between workers and employers and bring both sides to the negotiating table. My paper outlines the path to institutionalization through several theses that I have gained in the study of foreign and domestic literature and research in the strike movement and exclusions in the Austrian Empire in 1918.
