Der Umgang mit der kommunistischen Vergangenheit und die Form ihrer Erinnerung werden bereits im Schulunterricht angelegt. Mit Hilfe von Fragebogen versuchen die Autoren zu ermitteln, wie der Wissensstand der Studierenden an den Hochschulen in Ostrava zum Thema Sozialismus in der Tschechoslowakei ist und wie sie diese Zeitspanne bewerten.

Dealing with the communist past, and the shape of their memories are created already in the classroom. With the help of questionnaire, the authors try to determine how the level of knowledge of students in higher education in Ostrava on the subject of socialism in Czechoslovakia and how they assess this period.
