A stereotype is a conventional, standerized way of reacting, acting and evaluating the reality. It can also be found in the language. The topic of our artikle relates to stereotypes in the language understanding of Polish and Slovak reciprocally, too. As these stereotypes aren´t mostly true even in such close languages as Polish and Slovak, i tis needed to pay attention to the differencies in the grammar, semantic, wordformation, syntactic structure and stylistic value while studying a Slavic language.
