Autor popisuje vývoj českého aforismu na pozadí aforistiky Středního a Dálného Východu. V první části uvádí typy aforismů, které vznikly nezávisle na sobě v kultuře Egypta, Číny, Řecka a Říma. Pak popisuje vývoj evropského aforismu a na tomto pozadí uvádí české aforismy. Až do 19. století se v České republice objeví pouze didaktické aforismy, a od druhé poloviny 19. století a ve 20. století se začalo pěstovat nový typ aforismu, který v Evropě psal už v 18. století La Rochefoucauld. Nejzajímavější literární aforismy se objeví v druhé polovině 20. století a na přelomu 20. a 21. století.

Author describes development of Czech aphorism in the background of aphoristic in the Near and the Far East. In the first part of article he presents types of aphorisms, which were independently created in the culture of Egypt, China, Greece and Rome. Following that we can find description of development of Czech aphorism in the background of evolution of that genre in Europe. Till the XIX century there are only appearing didactic aphorisms in Czech Republic. In the second half of the XIX century and in the XX century we can find also aphorisms concerning the Refined life, which was started in Europe by La Rochefoucauld. However, the most interesting literary aphorisms are appearing in the second half of the XX century and at the turn of the XX and the XXI century.
