Příspěvek se zabývá specifickými faktory výuky hudební výchovy na soukromé mezinárodní škole 1st International school of Ostrava, která celé studium realizuje výhradně anglickém jazyce. Autorka charakterizuje interkulturní prostředí, na jehož pozadí se v klasickém modelu předmětu hudební výchovy střetávají studenti z celého světa. Hudební výchova je v tomto ohledu chápána jako klíčový a ze vzdělávacího hlediska nezastupitelný předmět.

The contribution is focused on the characteristics of music education at 1st International chool of Ostrava, the first project which was created in 2005 to provide education in English for foreign students. The author describes multicultural school enviroment and presents individual experience with musical abilities, interests, preferences and relations expressed by the 12-17-year-old students from countries around the world. From the educational point of view Music is understood as key and unsubstitutable subject.
